The Grand Christmas Tree Adventure...

Every year on the first Saturday in December, it has become a family tradition to bundle up the kids and take off and look for that "perfect" Christmas Tree. This year was no different. Fighting abnormal freezing temps we went out to look for our tree.

This year we decided to try our luck in a spot that we have gone before. When we finally arrived we all piled out and the kids immediately began playing on a frozen over pond. Yes I did warn them that someone was going to get hurt...(this will come into play a little latter).

We crossed the pond so we could climb the hill. There after going over many fallen trees and up the steep side we found what we had been looking for back the way we had come. We like to do things the hard way!

After dragging it back down and tying it to the car (after all that work we don't want to lose it.) we kids and Big kids played on the ice some more.

As this was Jake's first time to play on ice and seeing that he wanted to be just like the other "kids", Jason picked him up and slid across the ice. Jakey loved it. getting back up on your feet is a bit tricky on ice and Jason began to fall. Instead of falling on Jake, Jason tried to cushion the fall. Once Jason regained g=his feet he wasn't able to move his arm! We thought it was broken. We piled the kids in the car and took off for the LONG ride home.

We dropped the kids off at the house when we finally arrived back in town and I took Jason over to Redi care where his sister was working that day. We had it X rayed and it wasn't broken but... he had fractured his ribs.

And so ends the Tree adventure for the year. At least we got one and the kids are delighted with it. And we got to end this wonderful year with another broken bone. Fingers crossed this is the last one this year. After 2 broken arms, ribs, a pencil up the nose, multiple sprains and pulled tendons we are ready to be done with the doctors.
